The Art show “absorb their work sort of social sculpture” was a 3 day event,May 31-June2,2013, part of “Bushwick open studios” in Brooklyn, NYC at 3RDEYE(SOL)gallery,curtesy of it’s director Jose Castillo.Show was organized and curated by Emil Memon.
As the name suggest ,the idea of art as a social sculpture, able to make a difference and move things, as live life energy that connects people and has power to change the social drift was the curatorial guiding force. As Joseph Beuys’s remark about Jackson Pollock paintings, as a pure energy, so the approach to art and the artists in the show is as a pure energy that inform & reinforce each other. The fact that 3RDEYE(SOL) is firmly a vital part of the living community, where Bushwick merges with Bedford - Stuyvesant, working with local children in art programs and a space where young local artists can have their music and art performances, reinforced the idea and experience of the show.
The opening night featured live music performances by Carolyn Honeychild Coleman & NatureBoy Jim Kelly, The Veldt and Voodo Fe’.
